Coming for 2010, a new World Shoot Format !!

Plan now on attending the 75th World Skeet Championships !

The Executive Committee (EC), with input from the newly formed Advisory Committee, has made changes in the World Shoot format in order to better promote the shoot and attract more shooters. While at the annual Winter Meeting, the EC spent considerable time looking at a number of alternatives to define a format that would enable shooters to shoot more targets than in previous years while at the same time shortening the Championship program by one day, leaving both weekend days following the shoot available for travel.

New attractions:

  • New preliminary events scheduled before the Mini World. A great way to sharpen up before the World Shoot and to get up to as many as 400 additional targets needed for standards.

  • Extra fun events during the World Shoot - more information to follow at a later date.

  • A complimentary entry (one for each state and each Zone) to the Main events for a member in good standing who has never attended either a Mini-World or a World Shoot, based on a random drawing.

Mini World: will still be the same as in the past on Saturday and Sunday.

New schedule for the Main Events:

  • Monday - 12 gauge championship - 150 targets. Each shooter will shoot 75 targets in a morning flight and then another 75 targets in an afternoon flight followed by shoot-offs.  The East and West Championships will still be available and will be shot off Monday night after the 12 gauge Championships shoot offs conclude.

  • Tuesday - 20 gauge championship - 100 targets followed by shoot-offs, then the Hall of Fame banquet.

  • Wednesday - 28 gauge championship - 100 targets followed by shoot-offs and the Party-on-the Hill.

  • Thursday - 410 bore championship - 100 targets followed by HOA championship shoot-off (if required), and then remaining .410 bore and HOA shoot-offs.

  • Friday - Doubles championship and the single flight of Champ of Champs, followed by Doubles, Champ of Champs and HAA shoot-offs.

Next Step:

  • New rotation schedules: New rotation schedules are being developed. People that had already pre-registered will be contacted soon (in the order that they registered) so that they can select a new rotation. As soon as the new schedules have been finalized, this web page (www.mynssa.com) will be updated and a notice published in Target Talk and in the SSR.
